Vase Breath

Sit or stand with your back straight.  Either is ok.

Relax.

When you are ready, slowly breathe in through your nose.  Focus on expanding your lower stomach as the air enters your lungs and keep inhaling until no more can comfortably fit.

Pause.  Hold your breath for a moment.

Now, slowly exhale.  Allow the breath to be gently released.

Pause.  Again, slowly breathe in through your nose.  Focus on expanding your lower stomach as the air enters your lungs and keep inhaling until no more can comfortably fit.

Pause.  Hold your breath for a moment.

Now, slowly exhale.  Allow the breath to be gently released.

Repeat up to ten times each session.  Done correctly, your breathing rate should slow to about eight times per minute.  This exercise is said to improve oxygen flow to the brain.
